Like those among the early church, the community called The Arbor shares time, space, belongings, finances, and life with one another. Individuals within The Arbor commit to living their lives guided by traditional practices of Christian faith such as hospitality, prayer, discernment, worship, fellowship, forgiveness, and simple living.
In an effort to obey God’s command to “Love the Lord your God, with all your heart, mind, spirit and strength and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves,” the founders of Hyaets are eager to minister to, with, and among people in our community. We are passionate about serving the community in which we live, specifically the inner-city community of Charlotte, NC. We strive to form relationships and partnerships with the people in our community, learning with our neighbors how to best serve God and others.
The Seed Exchange branch of Hyaets seeks to form connections and partnerships with local congregations, associations, and families. Ministry is meant to be done together and for the benefit of all. Seed Exchange exists so enable congregations to learn together and connect with one another and with the ministries of Hyaets.
Little Tree is Hyaets' rural farm and retreat space where fresh healthy food is grown for Enderly Parkl and where neighbors can learn skills, participate in discipleship with one another and rest from the busy city. Little Tree is a place of learning, Sabbath keeping, creation care, farming, recreation, and relaxation and is located in West Lincoln county about 10 minutes from Lincolnton. Currently, Hyaets is rennovating space at Little Tree for the residential community, working towards primitive retreat campsites for neighbors and local churches and building garden beds using permaculture techniques.
