Christian Women's Job Corps

We have been overwhelmed at the support and encouragement we have received from you lately. We are happy to announce that due to the commitment and dedication of several women, we have launched the Christian Women's Job Corps mentorship program. Several neighborhood women have been partnered with Hyaets supporters so that together they may grow in discipleship, friendship, and share resources with one another. If you are interested in becoming a partner in this program please contact Jason.

1 How to be a community meal sponsor: Call Helms at 704.392.2346 to see what dates are available. Community meals are almost always on the first and third Fridays of each month except for the summer when they are once a month. The meal is served at 6pm. We ask sponsors to arrive no later than 5:30pm to set up the meal. Sponsors are asked to bring all items necessary for the meal including paper goods, ice, drinks, food, etc. We suggest bringing enough food for 30 neighbors plus the sponsoring volunteers/families. The meal begins with set up. Neighbors will help to serve the meal. Sponsors are asked to join in eating and fellowshipping with neighbors. After we’ve eaten and had time to hang out, we’ll clean up together. Community Meals typically last until 7:30pm. This includes the clean up time. If the weather is nice, the meal will be outside. If not, we’ll go indoors. The location of the meal rotates between the Parkway and Tuckaseegee Houses. Once sponsors have unloaded supplies, they are encouraged to park in the gravel parking lot across from the Parkway house or in the Bette Rae Thomas Recreation Center parking lot.

2 We regularly discover repair and household needs that our neighbors have. If you are interested in helping at one of our neighbor’s homes, please contact Jason at jason@hyaets.org.
